My Five Minute Face

There is very little in my life that comes close to that feeling I have when I look at my face just after I’ve woken up. Yep, I am all for self-care and self-love but I am also all for honesty and the truth is, first thing in the morning I am a freaking mess. I know this. Deep in my heart, I know this.

I also know that I am only 5 minutes away from greatness. Ok, I kid, semi-greatness. My morning makeup routine is fuss free, natural and really takes me about 5, sometimes 6 minutes. I don’t do any fancy colour correcting or contouring. I keep it simple and muted. With two kids, I barely have time to brush my teeth most morning, so elaborate makeup is completely unrealistic. Having said that, I really like the results I’ve managed to achieve in my short five minute routine.

Products I use:

Primer: Avon Anew Skin Instant Blurring Treatment + Revlon Youth FX Fill and Blur Primer for Forehead
Foundation: Avon  True Colour Flawless Liquid Foundation
Lashes:  essence Maximum Definition Volume  Mascara
Cheeks: L.A Girl Velvet Blush Stick in Glimmer
Lips: Too Faced Lip Injection Gloss + Justine Tinted Lipstick Infused With Tissue Oil
Bronze/ Shine:  Physicians Formula Ultra-nourishing Argan Oil Blush Rose
Eyeliner: Physicians Formula Kajal Eye Liner Trio Nude Eyes

Usually I do a full, 4-product face cleanse at night and in the morning I just do a light wash. Once my face is clean, I spritz a bit of the Avene Thermal Water on my face before applying my primer. Once the thermal water is absorbed I slap on the primer and then apply my foundation with a beauty blender. I haven’t yet gotten the hang of using a brush to apply foundation.

Once I’ve applied the foundation I usually follow a little order of my own making:

All over bronzer
Setting Spray

And that’s it. I’m a pretty laid back person when it comes to make up and I think I’ve kind of mastered that sweet spot between looking like I just woke up after a 6 day long crack binge and Snooki from Jersey Shore.

Do you wear makeup every day? If yes, I’d love to know how many products on average you use and how much time you spend on it?

Lots of love!
